The Met - Jackson Pollock

Unlike Monet, Carol's doesn't dig Jackson Pollock.

If you could read her mind as I took this picture, you might have heard (in Valley Girl voice), "I don't get it..."

Metropolitan Museum of Art

The Metropolitan Museum of Art is the biggest, amazingest museum I've ever been to. We spent the good part of a day there, and saw maybe 20% of it. If I lived in New York I'd visit it at least once a month.

Here are a couple of shots of the entry way from the second floor.

Empire State Building

Here are a whole bunch of pictures from atop the Empire State Building. This map of Manhattan will give an idea of the distances of these places from the Empire State Building (center of the map).

Trinity Church - Downtown Manhattan

Trinity Church was a calm respite halfway around Ground Zero. It's in the financial district near Wall St., the NYSE, and the AMEX. It's a beautiful, church, and the grounds/cemetery were calm and shaded.

World Trade Center - Ground Zero

We at lunch in downtown and headed off for a walk around the Ground Zero site. It was a long walk. It's a large area.

Picture from the west side of Ground Zero - you can get a feel for the scale of what happened on 9/11 in this picture.

I have no patience for 9/11 "Truthers." Much as our trip to Berlin, Poland, and Budapest lessened my patience for Holocaust deniers, so our visit to Ground Zero increased my intolerance for people like this guy.
